assistant to henry threadgill

In 2021, Declan became Henry Threadgill’s assistant.

A landslide of projects followed, including Threadgill’s projects, “One” and “The Other One”, presented at Roulette Intermedium in May 2022. From the first moment, Declan was scheduling rehearsals, booking flights, writing the entire run-of-show script, and more. Part of Declan’s duties included editing 3 different recordings of heartbeats into one “metronome” that could be listened to live on stage by the three string players. Another was triggering 8 different clips of pre-recorded audio at specific moments during the live performance. After receiving a rave review in the NYT and many other publications, the next step was turning the video recording into a documentary, “The Other One” premiered at MoMA the following year. Declan is currently submitting the film to multiple international film festivals around the world.

Since then, Declan has copyrighted almost all of Henry’s music, engineered recording sessions for Henry, and worked on countless other projects, including the release of the album “The Other One”.
